These babies cannot go to a foster-to-adopt home for a few more weeks and a partial adoption fee is due upon foster-to-adopt status (after app, vet ref and home visit approved).
An adoption cannot be complete until they are fully vetted, microchipped & spayed/neutered & this cannot happen until they has reached 5 lbs but no earlier than 16 weeks.

Out-of-state adoption will NOT be done until spayed/neutered. All adoption processes apply (adopttion app submitted with current vet info; vet ref done and a home visit completed and all approved)

Update on Redford! We still need a foster!!!!!

UPDATE 11/19/10
We spoke to the vet today. Redford can't have his paralyzed leg amputated until his broken shoulder has healed. He will need to remain at the vet at least 3 more weeks for his shoulder to heal & then he can have his amputation & neuter done..., he'll need 2-3 days of close observation & then he will get to go to a foster, foster-to-adopt or furever home! Just in time for the holidays if all goes as planned

Please continue to crosspost him so a foster or furever home can be found.
Also in hopes for donations for his care.
Thank you in advance from Redford & PL&DPR

Redford needs a foster home

Redford a 4-6 month old, male, possible Rhodesian Ridgeback mix was hit by car and the people that were attempting to help him couldn’t afford to help him financially so they took him to one of our vets to be euthanized. Our vet said no! And asked for our help!

Being hit by the car caused one front leg to be paralyzed and the other shoulder is broken. The paralyzed leg will be amputated and the broken will get a cast (we assume at this point). He is mobile and super sweet, loves to give kisses but his leg is painful to the touch right now. He’s been given a vaccination and will get his next booster after surgery.

We can’t help him without a foster home! He’ll be at the vet for some time until all the necessary surgery is done.
PLEASE open your heart and home to this deserving little man!
I met this baby yesterday and I swear he smiles at you when you baby talk to him or get down on his level to give him attention and love he craves.

Hero has a hero's heart. In his short life, living as the neighborhood stray, he has both saved a little child from the road (with no one looking she wandered into the road with traffic and he brought her back); and an elderly man from loneliness in his last days. Now he needs saving.

He has never known the love of a real family or even when he’s going to get his next meal. Hero just thought the neighborhood was his home. Even the AC must have liked him because they gave him lots of chances before having to take him away.

This little boy is so very special to so many who know him and are working hard to rescue him but no one has stepped up so save him. Now, the situation is desperate. We are begging, won’t someone please save this precious boy and give him the life and love he’s so willing to give others? Hero is 2 years old, possibly an Aussie mix, weighs 40 lbs and has a stubby tail. He’s had all of his shots (except rabies)and ready for love. He loves to be loved on and even snuggle with you! You will be rewarded for years to come with a true friend for life.

He's good with children and other dogs (with the exception of unaltered males), he is NOT neutered yet and they haven't done a HW test...

UPDATE

Chloe, 1-2 yr old, female Doberman, natural ears, docked tail, UTD, HW-, 70LBS, house broken, walks well on a leash, super sweetheart!
http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/17791750

Hi my name is Chloe, and my foster mom thinks that I’m a very good girl! She rescued me from a high kill shelter the day before I was going to be euthanized. A nice lady found me wondering around Blount County when I collapsed on her front porch, and brought me to a shelter to wait for my family to come get me, but no one came. I just had a litter of puppies, and was very malnourished. The vet thinks that I’m close to 2 years old, and that with a little love and patience I’ll be packing the pounds back on in no time. Other than being very thin, I’m a very healthy girl, and always ready to play.
I’m quite the love dog. Always giving kisses, and following my foster parents around. I love other dogs and people, and I’m already potty trained. My foster mom thinks I’m super smart too. I already know how to sit, stay, lay, heel, I always come when I’m called, and walk well on a leash. I’m crate training now, and I’m doing really well with it. I’m a special needs puppy. I have epilepsy and have to take medication every day for it. But the good news is my medicine is only $10 a month, and as long as I’m on it I’ll lead a happy normal life.
If you think that you might have a forever home for me please go to this link and fill out an adoption application http://www.peacelovedogpawsrescue.com/app_adoption.html
and for more info on sweet Chloe you can email her foster mom, Anna at: annacflowers@gmail.com.

UPDATE 11/10/10
Chloe's spay went well, she's doing better and the meds for her seizures are working, NOT one since she started her meds! She's a total sweetheart that wants someone to love her and appreciate her. She needs a home with a 5'+ fence or privacy fence and someone that will keep her meds on schedule. She's VERY intelligent and learns quickly. She's still in the silly stage (why we believe to be closer to 1 year) and enjoys walks, playtime and toys.

Chloe will be at Petco on 150 (Hoover, AL) with PL&DPRescue's other adoptables.
