Adoptions!

Hanson was adopted last night by the most amazing couple! I'm so happy for Martha, Tom and Hanson!

Zac has a wonderful home visit last night and Sunday his adoption will be completed! He'll have lovely new parents and a brother (dog) and sister (cat).

Bella Donna will go on her home visit Saturday morning; she's already met her possible sister but has to meet her new mom's boyfriend's dog too.

Grissom is making progress on adjusting to his foster's schedule and working on crate/house training. I think the issues we just as much our fault as his because we weren't aware he didn't know it was potty time if he wasn't on his leash!

Tomorrow 9/25/10 is Rescues and Runways at Maurices - Fultondale, AL
Peace Love & Dog Paws Rescue, Inc, is proud to announce a partnership with Maurices and the Rescues and Runways promotion. The fashion show with pictures of available dogs will be at 2:00 PM at the Maurices in Fultondale. Maurices in Fultondale is now taking donations, food, toys, etc. as well as nominal donations to benefit Peace Love & Dog Paws Rescue, Inc. New member of PL&DPR- Grissom

UPDATE
Grissom has been ADOPTED

We have a new addition to the Peace, Love & Dog Paws Rescue family - Grissom. He's believed to be a yorkie/Maltese but appears to be a cairn terrier or Australian terrier/ yorkie mix. He's 11 months, 13lbs, neutered, UTD on all vax, microchipped, crate and house trained (uses p-p pads) and full of life/energy! Loves to play, run and leap in the air. He gets along with dogs (small-large), cats and kids

Also, Hanson went to a foster-to-adopt Saturday with Tom and Martha; Jake and Sam's adoptions will be complete this week; AND Rescues & Runways at Maurices (Fultondale Store Location in Colonial Promenade) is Saturday, September 25 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm benefitting the rescue!

updates... BIG weekend last weekend

well Sam hit the puppy jackpot with the Jinks family! I'm jealous and hope to visit such a lovely home and wonderful people in the future! Thank you Hope and Dennis!

We have learned more about Percy and apparently he's not been around other animals and panics, barks, and runs at cats and dogs. So we're recommending his furever home be a Percy only home or one with a female his size or smaller.

Portia has attracted a lovely family with two children and the app, vet ref process is under way.

Cheyenne also attracted a woman involved in frisbee dogs and we all think that would be perfect for Cheyenne so we're waiting to start the process for her.

Ace went on a home visit last night that went wonderfully and he barked for the first time and still seems unsure what cats are... possibly the ugliest dog he's ever come across and they make weird noises but he was a gentleman and didn't chase them, just watched and wagged. Fingers crossed for Ace, this would be an amazing home for him

Dale seems to be feeling better and gaining a little weight and sticks up for his foster siblings, barks at noises and plays a good bit - a little too rough sometimes but he's learning boundaries and what toys and bones are. He's doing well with crate training and house training too!

Hanson and Frankie enjoyed a photoshoot at the Butterbean festival here's my favs

BUSTER GOT A FOSTER HOME

With great joy I'm glad to let my blog followers know that Buster has found the most amazing, perfect foster home we could've hoped for. Our prayers were answered and this big happy, smiling boy has a home to learn in, build confidence and prove he can still have a full life despite his blindness. You go Buster! I can not express how thankful I am for this foster family!

broken heart...

Unfortunately I've not updated my blog lately but I feel it is a must that I share my heart break (as well as Mom's and the rest of Peace, Love and Dog Paws Rescue's) that we lost our sweet Wesley... he was surrounded by Alison, Mom and myself as he crossed the rainbow bridge. His little body couldn't overcome bacterial pneumonia... he gave a great deal of love, hugs, joy and laughter in his short time with us and I look forward to seeing him again... love always sweet Wesley!
