BUSTER GOT A FOSTER HOME

With great joy I'm glad to let my blog followers know that Buster has found the most amazing, perfect foster home we could've hoped for. Our prayers were answered and this big happy, smiling boy has a home to learn in, build confidence and prove he can still have a full life despite his blindness. You go Buster! I can not express how thankful I am for this foster family!

broken heart...

Unfortunately I've not updated my blog lately but I feel it is a must that I share my heart break (as well as Mom's and the rest of Peace, Love and Dog Paws Rescue's) that we lost our sweet Wesley... he was surrounded by Alison, Mom and myself as he crossed the rainbow bridge. His little body couldn't overcome bacterial pneumonia... he gave a great deal of love, hugs, joy and laughter in his short time with us and I look forward to seeing him again... love always sweet Wesley!

New pulls

Peace, Love & Dog Paws Rescue is doing well.

Addison (Addy) is going to her foster-to-adopt 7/16/10

7/14/10 we pulled Lebron, now Wesley, he's an 8 month old male (neuter next week), HW-, 12lbs and a love bug! prefers to sit in your lap than anything else but doe enjoy toys and a good game of fetch!

7/16/10 we pulled TWO-
Meeps, now Meg, a female shih tzu mix, approx 2 years old and 11 lbs but HW+ so she'll start HW treatment asap and be spayed.

Zappo, now Zac, a shih tzu or lhasa apso mix, approx 2 years old and 15 lbs & HW-! He'll be neutered next week as well.

When we pulled them we found out they were found roaming together so they're old friends and sweet together.

I'm staying in Birmingham, not moving to Houston, TX. I've found a temp job that will tie me over until something more perm comes along or I can go back to El Paso.
Mom is doing very well with all this crap going on and I'm enjoying home more now :)

Week of Home Visits!

Wednesday was Stormy's home visit... she has joined a wonderful family with two young girls and a dachshund/pug mix, Chloe, that's a few months older than Stormy but a little smaller than she is now. I think she'll live a long and happy life with the girls and a fur-sibling. I'm so happy for sweet Stormy but Adam and I will miss her dearly.

This coming Saturday Julia is going to her home visit to a couple that's "experts" on Chihuahuas and have the biggest, kindest hearts I've ever heard of. They understand her and what she needs and will be patient with her coming out of her shell with their crew of chi's they already have. I'm really looking forward to meeting the Ealums! AND their furbabies!

ALSO this week we gained a new foster, Addison, Addy for short and she's a 13 weeks old Doberman mix that her previous owners let her ride in the back on a pick up and she fell out, shattered her back leg... long story short, he wanted her PTS, the vet didn't and with donations removed the leg (only option) and NOW she's at our house "recovering" (running circles around the 4 legged crew! lol

updates!

Julia- is finishing her week 3 of 4 on crate rest! doing so much better, really coming out of her shell and very silly!!! Adam and I do feel she should be in a chihuahua home or be the only dog. She's terrified of Cameron, barks and growls at Bay Leigh and Maggie but doesn't mind Jack Cat at all.

Stormy- is still looking for a foster home! She's temporarily at our house! Her brother and sister, Ace and Star are in foster homes and will be available for adoption once they're neutered/spayed at 16 weeks. Pearl the other sister is in a foster-to-adopt and will be adopted once spayed. yay Pearl!

Petey- went to the vet yesterday, down from 140 to 124, no cancer, no cysts, no hip dysplasia...arthritis on his knees and hips though and on an anti-inflammatory for a week and then as needed from there... he will continue to take pride in being the rescue's mascot
