Sad day...

Due to an irresponsible adult a dog died in my arms today. Neglect, hoarding, puppy mills, fighting animals....all are abuse and should be stopped. I know educating the public is key but no one seems to care. I very sweet dog named SGT was neglected and though he was taken to a vet wasn't treated properly and to stop his suffering. I saved him from a cold concrete pen only to give him an afternoon of love, a soft place to nap, a cheeseburger (that he had no business having) and an easier end. Though it broke my heart and a dear friend of mine who was with me it was the right thing to do for him and he was what really matters.

Animals can't tell you where they hurt, when or what happened the day it started which makes it harder for vets to help and more painful for the animal.

Even though SGT was in horrible pain he never tried to bite me, he still was wagging his tail and even enjoyed a little petting too.

He was a brave dog that deserved better, I hate I wasn't able to help more. I will not forget him, or what had happened to him.

People need to realize a pup is a long term commitment and regular vet visits, routine check ups, shots, medicine is required. You can't just throw another living thing away in the trash or put it in the backyard to forget. It needs love, attention, affection and a responsible owner. It was humans that domesticated these animals, it is our responsibility to care for them.

Be responsible!
