Maggie Mae update

I just talked to the lady that has Maggie and she's still not big enough to come home this weekend :(
So, it looks like I'll be getting her either March 12th after work or March 14th.
She was vaccinated today but won't have surgery for another week.
I just keep telling myself the longer she's with her mom, the healthier she'll be in the long run but the waiting is killing me.

Birmingham Vulcans Rugby

So far this season Adam's team is 2-0 (Atlanta Bucks 83-0 & High Country 35-3). This week is a home game against Maryville, TN and next week (March 7) they're playing the Atlanta Bucks in Bham (this is the last home game for a while).
Adam's knee is really doing well since the surgery and he's feeling better on the field. Luckily the final stage of this surgery is this fall (Oct. or Nov.) and I'll stop worrying so much about it, maybe.
It always amazes me after a game how many bruises he gets in such a short period of time and this past weekend is no exception. You can actually see the outlines of cleats, hand shaped bruises on his arms, there's a chunk of the side of his nose scrapped off and a raspberry on his back bigger than my hand. He's also so stiff the next day I have to rub him neck pretty much all day Sunday....but he loves it so I'll continue to rub his shoulders and neck and counting bruises.

Maggie Mae 2-11-09

Here's an update on Maggie.... at 4 weeks & 4 days she's 1 lb 4 oz. She can't have her next shots or be spayed until she's 2 lbs and then I can bring her home after that.

Eat little one. eat!

Precious

More news! Mom has decided to adopt Maggie Mae's Mom, Precious! So, the mother/daughter duo will continue... :) and another dog from a shelter has a loving home! What a wonderful day!

29 on 2-9-09

Today is my last twenty something bday... but luckily I have loving, caring, wonderful people in my life that have made my day wonderful...and Adam being the best thing to have happened to me.......ever! Has brought Maggie Mae (name subject to change) into our home (life).

We're rescuing her from a shelter instead of getting a pure breed from a breeder.

She's part long hair Dachshund, part Chihuahua... she was born Jan. 9th so I don't get to pick her up until she's 6 weeks old or 2lbs but she's worth the wait.

Thank you to all my loving friends and family.

Going out

Use to Joanie, Candi and I would get ready together at one of our places and load up late at night and head downtown. We'd do this once, twice and sometimes three times a week and sometimes we'd come home early in the morning; sometimes we'd bring the sun up and then sleep a few hours and be ready to go again.
WELL, this past Saturday night we went out with Candi's little sister, Audrey to celebrate her finally being 21 (it took the girl much longer it seems than anyone else). While we were out I started noticing things I never had before- like how young some of the bar-goers looked; how loud the place was; how bad the smoke stinks; how freaking expensicve a jack and coke is- and then I realized maybe going out once every 6-12 months is ok with me now because it just isn't as entertaining as it all once was. Don't get me wrong I had a great time out with everyone and I'm glad we got to celebrate with Audrey but I definately don't want to do it on a regular basis like we once did.
Anyway, thanks ladies (and the few men we took with us) for a great night, for reminding me how much I love y'all and spending time with you but also that I'm not missing out on a few things I thought I had been because I had other responsibilities to handle instead of going out like we use to.

Silliness

Adam got his brace for his knee just before Christmas and Cesar thinks it's a cat tunnel. He's such a nut!

There was also a pile up on the couch Christmas eve too. Such silly boys!
