Lily the mini-Schanuzer fights for her leg from spider bite

Peace, Love & Dog Paws Rescue & Lily NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Lily was bitten by a Brown Recluse Spider
(Warning pictures below are graphic)

Lily has been in the rescue since January 2011, she was apparently part of a backyard breeder &/or neglected until she was surrendered to the shelter with rotten teeth, heartworm positive and had hematomas on both ears that all have been addressed. She recovered quickly from having her ears fixed, teeth pulled and on going slow HW treatment. She’s a 7 year old mini Schnauzer that was VERY fearful of men BUT in the months in her foster home she’s come out of her shell and is a sweet loving companion. Lily had a furever home waiting on her BUT the day before she was to be transported to her home she was bitten by a BROWN RECLUSE SPIDER.
NOW the rescue & Lily have months of vet bills to save Lily’s life and her leg. We need your help to offset the vet bills while Lily recovers.
Below are the graphic pictures of her progress so far. As long as there is tissue rejuvenating there’s hope for her leg. Every 48 hours we take Lily to the vet for a wound cleaning/bandage change; once the tissue has filled in then a skin graph (surgery) will be required to close the opening. This process will take weeks, possibly months! If the tissue doesn’t continue to make progress or dies we will have to amputate her leg at the shoulder.
Lily is currently in our special needs foster home on crate rest and antibiotics and pain meds to ease this process as much as possible. Though Lily must be in a great deal of pain & stress she’s still very loving, wanting to cuddle when she’s not sleeping; with her spirits up & her progress, we’re VERY hopeful we will save her leg!
